Bordeaux: he is arrested with 122 cocaine eggs in his stomach

A 22-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, December 15 at Bordeaux-Saint-Jean station by the customs service. Suspected of being a “mule”, he did indeed have 122 cocaine eggs in his stomach.

Of Haitian nationality, but living in Guyana, he had ingested the drug there, and had to deliver it to Toulouse. With two other people, he had traveled to mainland France from Cayenne and had passed through Paris, where they had spent one night, before taking the train to the city of Haute-Garonne.

Customs officers therefore intercepted him earlier on his journey, taking advantage of his being down on the platform to smoke. Finding him suspicious, the officials decided to check him. Having tested positive for drugs, he was then forced to undergo a belly x-ray, which revealed the 122 capsules inside.

In total, it is more than a kilo of powdered cocaine that the individual had ingested, reports Sud-Ouest. He explained that he was in financial difficulty and had swallowed the capsules – with the aim of expelling them once they arrived at the sponsor – for money.

After several days in police custody, he must be tried in the context of an immediate appearance.
