Borderlands 3: cross-play finally available on PS4 and PS5

Even if it seems acquired for many players, the cross play between competing consoles and/or PC is not automatic, especially with playstation. So when Borderlands 3 allowed players on personal computers, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S to cooperate, PS4 users (and PS5 via backwards compatibility) had been left out.

But on the occasion of a recent point on the future of the title, Gearbox Software confirmed that he had found common ground with Sony Interactive Entertainment to offer the cross play on playstation for spring. The end of the tunnel has arrived this week with the release of a new update. The patch in question otherwise corrects various problems and brings the VRR on PlayStation 5.

PATCH NOTES

  • Cross-play support on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
  • [PlayStation uniquement] Variable refresh rate support for PlayStation 5.
  • [PlayStation uniquement] Addressed a reported concern with behind-the-scenes videos of the Director’s Cut not rotating correctly.
  • Various cross-play fixes.
  • Addressed a reported issue with the ECHO menu map not displaying correctly on ultrawide screens.
  • Miscellaneous performance and stability improvements.

Now the novelties should calm down for Borderlands 3, which will celebrate its 3rd birthday at the start of the school year. For latecomers, the game is available from €11.75 on Amazon.co.uk.
