Justin Bieber invested 500 Ether in January for a copy of the NFT series “Bored Ape Yacht Club” (BAYC). At the time, that was $1.3 million. The Canadian then posts the “bored monkey” on his Instagram page.
Today, however, the NFT is only worth a fraction. This is on the OpenSea trading platform highest bid for Bored Ape number 3001 currently at 56.22 Ether, around 67,000 US dollars – a minus of almost 94 percent.
Justin Bieber doesn’t have to sell the Ape. Among other things, this price development shows the temporary end of the BAYC hype. The trading volume on OpenSea has been declining for months.
In general, however, the pop star shows great interest in the crypto space. In addition to his private investment in BAYC, the 28-year-old also took a stake in the crypto payment service provider MoonPay.
