Former tennis star Boris Becker and his partner Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro have said “yes”! The couple celebrated their wedding on September 14, 2024 in the Italian coastal town of Portofino. Now the first photos of the wedding have surfaced.
Boris Becker, 56, and Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro could hardly be happier, because according to “Bild” they have finally tied the knot. The couple, who have been together since 2020, said “I do” in front of friends and family – and behind closed doors. Now “Vogue” has exclusively published the first photos of the wedding.
First photos of the dream wedding in Italy
The tennis legend and the risk analyst pledged their eternal love in Portofino, a small town in Liguria, northern Italy. The ceremony took place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the Abbazia della Cervara, an old monastery complex on the Monte di Portofino. While the couple celebrated their wedding eve in public the evening before, the two and their wedding party withdrew completely on the day of the wedding.
The first photos of the wedding only appeared on Sunday evening: Vogue posted exclusive photos of the Becker wedding on its Instagram account. Lilian walked down the aisle in a strapless white dress and wore a veil. In an interview with the magazine, Lilian also explained why she and Boris got married in Portofino. “We wanted a place that felt like our home, that was part of our life together, that we know and enjoy. One that reminds us both of ourselves. From Milan, it’s easy to get to beautiful places in northern Italy.”

Boris and his girlfriend, as well as the tennis legend’s family, were not seen. As “Bild” now reports, Boris Becker and Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro tied the knot early on Saturday evening.

Witnesses to the wedding were Boris’ sons Elias, 25, and Noah, 30, from his previous marriage to Barbara Becker, 57. According to “Bild”, former ski racer Christa Kinshofer, 63, and Daniel Grieder, 62, head of Hugo Boss, were also there to celebrate with the former top athlete and his current wife.
Guests arrived on Friday for the bridal shower
Boris Becker and Lilian, of course, arrived in the coastal town before their big day. The two were spotted in a restaurant beforehand, and they seemed relaxed. Boris and Lilian arrived on a yacht to their waiting wedding guests on the pier in Portofino. The two lovers were greeted with cheers by their guests. Lilian wore a white dress with black polka dots, while Boris opted for a light blue three-piece suit. Afterwards, the couple and their wedding party strolled to the upscale restaurant Ristorante Puny, where the bridal shower took place.
Marriage number three for the tennis star
This is already Boris Becker’s third marriage: he was married to Barbara Becker from 1993 to 2001. In 2009 he married Lilly Becker, 48, with whom the 56-year-old has a son, Amadeus, 14, and the marriage lasted nine years. Now the former tennis ace has once again entered the harbor of marriage.
Becker has already been through difficult times with his Lilian: When he began a prison sentence of around one and a half years in the UK in April 2022 for insolvency offenses, she stood by him and visited him in prison again and again. Now the couple can enjoy their life together in their adopted home of Milan.
