Ex-tennis star Boris Becker has been in prison in London’s Wandsworth Prison for a good week. But as an insider reveals, the 54-year-old is not really warming to his new home.

Boris Becker, 54, has been behind bars for about a week now. But Boris doesn’t really feel comfortable in his new home yet. On the contrary: according to a source, he is shocked by the conditions in the Victorian prison.

The prison cuisine is not to his liking

Before his imprisonment, Boris Becker was a real foodie. Cuban cigars, fine wines, a decent steak – only the best of the best was served to the 54-year-old. And that’s exactly what the former Wimbledon winner seems to be getting on his feet. Because, as an insider reveals to The Sun, Boris is said to find it very difficult to get used to the food on offer in his London prison. “He’s going through a tough time and the worst thing of all is the food. He can’t believe how bad it is and how small the portions are. One of his first meals was corned beef, which wasn’t good.” The tennis star uses his pocket money of around 12 euros a week to fill up his hated menu with chocolate, biscuits and bananas from the canteen.

It’s not just the food that bothers Boris Becker

But it doesn’t seem to be just the food that the 54-year-old doesn’t like. The noise, the many smells and the lack of hygiene are also said to bother Boris. As a result, he sleeps particularly badly in his six-square-meter cell. “Conditions are miserable, almost inhuman. It can get cold in the cells and there is hardly any daylight,” the source told The Sun.

His girlfriend reveals: According to the circumstances, he is doing well

Although the 54-year-old has to nibble on the harsh prison conditions at Wandsworth Prison, his mental state is stable – Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, Becker’s current girlfriend, now reveals this after her first visit. Good news that certainly made the Becker family breathe easier. After all, Boris still has to spend at least half of his sentence in prison.
