Former PM claims Queen died of bone cancer
Boris Johnson boasts about a health detail about the late Queen in his new memoir. Did she die of bone cancer?
Former British Prime Minister (2019-2022) Boris Johnson (60) will publish his memoirs “Unleashed” on October 22nd. In the book, among other things, he reveals an alleged health detail about the late British queen, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). He wants to know her real cause of death.
Accordingly, the record ruler did not die of “natural causes” as announced by Buckingham Palace. According to Newsweek, Johnson specifically names “bone cancer” as the cause of death in his book. The Queen is also said to have known before her death that she would not survive the summer.
His last meeting with the Queen
In an excerpt from his memoirs published in the Mail on Sunday, Johnson also describes the last time he saw the Queen alive. “I had known for more than a year that she had some form of bone cancer, and her doctors were concerned that she could go into decline at any time. She lost quite a bit of weight over the summer,” Johnson said. After a brief conversation with her private secretary Edward Young, Johnson was taken “to Her Majesty’s drawing room.”
The politician also recounts the supposedly subsequent conversation with Elizabeth in his book: “‘Good morning, Prime Minister,’ she said, and as we sat down on the green-blue sofas opposite, I could immediately see what Edward meant. She looked pale and hunched over, and she had dark bruises on her hands and wrists, probably from IVs or injections.” However, her mind was “completely unimpaired” by her illness. The Queen’s famous smile also flashed again and again during the conversation.
“As Edward Young later explained to me,” Johnson continued, “she knew all summer that she was leaving, but was determined to persevere and fulfill her final duty: overseeing the peaceful and orderly transition from one administration to the next – and, I suspect, adding another outgoing Prime Minister to their record-breaking list.”
Does the palace react?
The Conservative Party politician is not the first to publicly claim that the Queen had cancer; a royal historian also made the claim in a book.
Buckingham Palace has not responded to Johnson’s claim to announce her diagnosis. Palace staff also typically remained tight-lipped about the queen’s health. The procedure was different for King Charles III. (75), who decided to be open about his cancer. Princess Kate (42) also announced that she had cancer after her abdominal operation.
Queen Elizabeth was 96 years old and the United Kingdom’s longest-reigning monarch when she died at her Scottish country estate of Balmoral on September 8, 2022.
Boris Johnson was also supposed to convert Prince Harry
How credible Boris Johnson’s claim is remains questionable. Like the “Daily Mail” a few days ago Previously reported from the memoirs, Johnson also claims that he was asked in January 2020 to stop Prince Harry (40) from resigning from his royal duties and moving to the USA.
