When Richard Hutchinson was born, the doctors spoke of a zero percent chance of survival. Now he has celebrated his first birthday and is developing very well.

A pregnancy usually lasts about 40 weeks, but the due date does not always fall exactly on the calculated date. In the case of Beth and Rick Hutchinson, however, the deviation from the calculated due date was particularly large: their son Richard was born at just 21 weeks of pregnancy, making him the earliest baby born in the world.

131 days too early – This is how premature Richard is doing today

With his birth, the American broke a thirty-year record. Doctors were not confident at the time of delivery, preparing the new parents for the worst. That the boy was able to celebrate his first birthday and is developing splendidly is therefore a miracle. You can see how Richard’s first year of life went and what his parents think about his development in the video.
