Driving near Pélissanne in the Bouches-du-Rhône, a father noticed that a stray bullet, fired from a hunting rifle, had almost hit his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, as the reported La Provence.
A terrible tragedy almost happened in the town of Pélissanne, located in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône. The facts took place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, as reported by the regional daily Provence. That day, a family father was traveling in the area at the wheel of her vehicle, accompanied by her one-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter. At some point during the morning, the car was hit by a stray bullet, fired from a shotgun. The projectile passed through the left rear door, coming very close to touching the little girl, who was in her car seat.
The bullet went through the girl’s diaper bag, while shaving her car seat, to finally end its race in the driver’s calf, who was only very slightly injured. The father of the family realized shortly after the fact that this famous 12-gauge bullet had almost hit his daughter, causing him great trauma. According Provence, a bullet of this caliber is usually used to hunt wild boar. Shaken by this event, the girl’s father went to the police station to file a complaint. Alerted, the gendarmes quickly identified a group of hunters. However, none of them has so far admitted being the author of the shooting which hit the car of the father of the family.

Provence further clarified thatan investigation is currently underway to shed some light on this whole affair. In addition, a ballistic analysis could be ordered, in order to determine the weapon at the origin of the shot. As a reminder, many hunting accidents have occurred in France since the beginning of the year. If the driver’s granddaughter finally escaped unscathed, this was not the case for all the victims. In effect, some hunting accidents have unfortunately turned out to be fatal.
