Three new releases arrive in the Top 10 this week, but none manage to grab the first place, which remains occupied by The Nun 2. The horror film garnered 262,795 additional admissions, for a cumulative total of 726,897 admissions.
The little, a new film by Guillaume Nicloux, directed by Fabrice Luchini, is 2nd, with just over 200,000 tickets sold in one week. This is the best start for a film directed by this director.
The rest of the ranking is without any big surprises compared to last week. But it should nevertheless be noted that for the first time since July 26, Barbie and Oppenheimer no longer appear in the weekly top 10! Oppenheimer even passes Barbie by being 11th (+45,737 entries) and Barbie is 12th (+45,688 entries). The two films are truly neck and neck.
Many continuations including Anatomy of a fall which passed the million mark this weekend. The Book of Solutions by Michel Gondry with Pierre Niney passes the 300,000 admissions mark in the 2nd week.
In terms of new developments, let us point out the mixed start ofAcid. He is 5th with 128,852 entries. If the film starts much better than La Nuée, Just Philippot’s previous feature film (an end of career at 50,000 admissions, in a dire context for cinemas), the score is disappointing given its very high production budget, and its cast led by Guillaume Canet.
Still on the news side, filmmaker Aki Kaurismaki is 7th with Dead leavesa score between Le Havre (2011) and The Other Side of Hope (2017).
