TO REMEMBER

Is Wonka with Timothée Chalamet a good film?

The French box office, a little dull this fall, is regaining color thanks to this period favorable to taking refuge in the warmth with family or friends. Thus, even continuation films continued to attract crowds, like Wonka, but not only that.

10 films to watch with children in December 2023: Wonka, Wish, Migration…

Several films boost their admissions, like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2nd, + 23%), The Three Musketeers Milady (3rd, + 39%) or even Wish – Asha and the lucky star (5th, + 61%), Preserve (6th, + 51%) and especially the animated film Migration (+98%), 7th this week and now on the verge of a million entries.

What room for new things? The SEGPA on skis is the first of the new products to find a place in the Top with nearly 600,000 entries in one week. This is much higher than the first film which attracted 228,318 spectators in its first week in April 2022.

If certain media have relayed disturbances which would have taken place in several theaters, our colleagues from Le Parisien indicate that this would have only concerned 8 screenings out of 1,050. The director of the film also spoke on the subject, to calm the start of the controversy.

The only other new feature in this top 10 is in 10th place: it is the animal documentary Kina & Yuk, narrated by Virginie Efira.

7.3 million admissions: it is the film which achieved the biggest success in France in 2023
