Gastronomic day as this November 23 in dark rooms, where the thriller Le Menu faced the cannibal romance Bones and All, carried by Timothée Chalamet. And it was the first that prevailed over the second, released on a close number of copies but whose potential is limited by its ban on those under 16 years old.

Incarnated by Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, Le Menu signs the best start of the novelties of November 23rd. With 22,164 spectators gathered at its table, it is ahead of Roschdy Zem’s new production, Les Miens (18,135 admissions), which is the biggest release of the week, from the top of its 366 screens.

Twice rewarded at the last Deauville Festival (Grand Prix and trophy for Best First Film), Saint-Omer climbed directly to the third step of the podium with its 10,816 torn tickets. French representative in the race for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, Alice Diop’s feature film is ahead of She Said (8,664 admissions) and offers a better average per print than Les Miens (54 spectators per screen against 50 for Roschdy Zem).

An encouraging start that word of mouth and possible nominations and prizes at the Golden Globes, César and Oscars will be able to consolidate in the weeks to come.
