BOX-OFFICE FROM OCTOBER 5 TO 11, 2022: THE TOP 10

TO REMEMBER

November with Jean Dujardin did he even stronger than Bac Nord? After a very strong first day in France (more than 100,000 admissions, previews included), the new film directed by Cédric Jimenez confirms its good launch. Nearly 600,000 spectators came in one week (including previews), which is therefore higher than the launch week of Bac Nord, which had bet to come out in the middle of August in 2021. Bac Nord recorded 483,381 admissions for its first week, and accumulated more than 2.2 million admissions by the end of its career.

We have to go back to April 2022 to find a French film exceeding 500,000 admissions in one week, in this case Le Bon Dieu 3, or 6 months without such a score for French cinema. In the ranking of the year 2022, the first week of November is in 12th place, between the two French comedies Retirement home with Kev Adams and Super-heroes despite him from Philippe Lacheau’s band (both released last February ).

In second place, this week, Smile keep smiling. The horror film recorded a better second week, with just over 240,000 additional tickets sold, ie a total of close to 500,000 admissions. It was already a good start last week for a horrifying title in 2022, ahead of Nope and Scream. Parker Finn’s feature film achieved this score in the second week without having benefited from holidays, special events or tariff operations. A first in the history of horror cinema in France, indicates the French distributor of the film.
