Box office France: Top Gun Maverick returns to Jurassic World 3


Boosted by the Film Festival, Top Gun Maverick returns ahead of Jurassic World 3 this week at the box office in France. The dinosaur movie held the No. 1 spot for 3 consecutive weeks. Check out the full ranking.

Top Gun Maverick continues to fill up with spectators, driven in particular by the Film Festival. Between Sunday and Tuesday inclusive, cinema admission was 4 euros in all theaters. This operation allows the film to register 500,000 additional admissions, and even manages to go back in front Jurassic World: The World After who held the 1st place for 3 consecutive weeks. The film is up 20% from last week.

Jurassic World 3 is 2nd, with nearly 480,000 additional admissions this week, a total close to 2.9 million admissions. The film could cross the 3 million tickets sold this weekend.

Buzz Lightning continues on its good momentum, with a stable score compared to last week, and an accumulation close to a million entries, at the end of its 2nd week.

Several new releases are making their way into the sun, starting with Jérôme Commandeur’s adventure comedy, Irreducible. More than 400,000 spectators let themselves be tempted in one week. Another French comedy among the novelties, Crossingwith Alban Ivanov, Lucien Jean-Baptiste and Audrey Pirault… Between these two novelties, Elvis remains in good shape, with more than 300,000 more music lovers, and a total of 655,000 spectators.

Three novelties complete the ranking: Arthur, curse based on the film by Luc Besson, Decision To Leavethe new Park Chan Wook, Best Director award at Cannes, and finally Hello, documentary dedicated to Mélanie Diam’s. It was a limited release for only 2 days, before going live on the Brut platform in the fall. A successful limited release since it attracted just over 90,000 people.
