Avatar: The Way of the Water will appear behind Avengers: Endgame (1.941 billion) and the first Avatar (2.128 billion), making James Cameron the director of three of the four biggest hits of all time, just that. In detail, the most lucrative markets for his latest feature film are China (240 million), France (141.5 million) and South Korea (105.5 million).
If we add to that the 636 million at the North American box office, Avatar 2 enjoys an accumulation of 2.174 billion dollars on the globe, which places it at a handful of banknotes of titanic (2.194), but still far fromAvengers: Endgame (2.799) and Avatar (2.923). An impressive total, certainly to be credited to the quality of the film, but also to the higher prices of IMAX and 3D screenings.
Also remember that all these figures are in unadjusted dollars. Calculating the receipts of all films in the history of cinema with the price of the place in 2022, the five most popular works remain Gone with the wind (1939), Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), The melody of happiness (1965), AND the alien (1982)… and titanic.
Where to see the films and series of the saga Avatar ?
After the takeover of 20th Century Fox by Disney in 2019, the studios’ many films and series joined Mickey’s purse. Among them, Alien, crystal trap and the saga Avatar. The first film is to be seen (or seen again) on the Disney+ streaming platform, as are the next programs in the franchise.
