Boy (16) captured – pistol shots at the Pride rally in Bregenz


A 16-year-old Turkish citizen fired several shots with a blank gun at the Pride rally in Bregenz on Saturday. Nobody was injured, the 16-year-old was caught.

On Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., around 300 people gathered at the Bregenz Kornmarktplatz for the announced Pride rally. The event went on peacefully until several eyewitnesses spotted a youth in the immediate vicinity who fired shots from a weapon and then fled. The alerted police immediately drove to the scene and found a nine there-Millimeter blank shot cartridge. Because of the detailed personal descriptions, the young person, a 16-year-old Turkish citizen, was soon caught.

No weapon found
The officers could not find a weapon on the young man. He was pretty uncooperative, but eventually admitted he actually fired the shots. A provisional gun ban was imposed on the 16-year-old. He is charged with disorder and violation of the Weapons Act and the Assembly Act.
