An 11-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being thrown from his parents’ car during a rollover. The dad had lost control of the car after an overtaking maneuver in Utzenaich.
The 38-year-old Syrian from Schärding was driving his car on Friday shortly before 1 p.m. with his 33-year-old wife and eleven-year-old son on the Andorfer Landesstraße in Utzenaich. On a slightly sloping stretch of road, the man overtook a car and was just able to get back into position in front of an oncoming car. In the subsequent left-hand bend, the 38-year-old lost control of his vehicle and left the lane on the right.Two rolloversThe car rolled over twice and finally came to a standstill on its wheels in a field. In the accident, the eleven-year-old son was probably thrown out of the car through a side window and was seriously injured about five meters from the car. After the first aid by the emergency doctor, the boy was flown to the Wels Clinic with the rescue helicopter “Christophorus Europa 3”. His parents were taken to Ried Hospital by ambulance with unspecified injuries.
