bp: extension of the agreement on Tangguh in Indonesia

(CercleFinance.com) – The Indonesian government has granted a 20-year extension of the Tangguh (Tangguh PSC) production sharing contract to bp (operator) and its Tangguh PSC partners.

The agreement, which was to expire in 2035, is thus extended until 2055.

‘This extension reflects bp’s long-term commitment to Indonesia. This will allow us to continue to build on the excellent work done by our Indonesian team – along with our partners and strong government support – to deliver natural gas from Tangguh to Indonesia and other markets. Today’s agreement will help unlock new possibilities for Tangguh’s future, commented Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, bp’s executive vice president, low carbon gas and energy.
