BR02 BT & BR03 BT: Triangle offers its BR02 and BR03 in a wireless version

Triangle has just announced the release of two new active loudspeakers derived from the BR02 and BR03 models of the Boréa range. The BR02 BT and BR03 BT stand out from their passive sisters by the addition of Bluetooth connectivity in particular.

As the bankruptcy of Onkyo illustrates, the era of the hi-fi installation so dear to purists (passive speakers + dedicated amp) seems to interest the crowds less and less. In order to adapt to new market demands, Triangle is jumping on the bandwagon by offering its passive speakers BR02 and BR03 in active and connected versions.

The aptly named BR02 BT and BR03 BT have a Bluetooth 5.0 chip compatible with the aptX HD high definition codec, as well as numerous connection possibilities such as an optical and coaxial S/PDIF input, a mini-jack auxiliary input and an output for connecting a subwoofer. Both models also include an MM phono preamplification stage for connecting a vinyl turntable with moving magnet cartridge. A vinyl turntable has also been developed in partnership with the Austrian manufacturer PRO-JECT in order to form a coherent whole with the speakers. The plates will be available in four finishes for the start of the 2022 school year.

The BR02 BT and BR03 BT take up the bookcase format as well as the refined design of the passive versions with their MDF panels and their oblong-shaped magnetic grille. The BR02 BT even takes up the dimensions of the BR02 (27.4 x 17.6 x 31 cm), but is however heavier (6.1 kg against 5.1 kg) due to the integration of the amplification stage. The BR03 BT is also very close to its sister (31.4 x 20.6 x 36 cm and 7.6 kg), but is still 2 cm less than the BR03 due to the absence of bass vents reflex. Both models also incorporate the DVAS system to absorb the vibrations caused by the bass speakers in order to limit distortion phenomena.

Both speakers maintain an acoustic architecture very similar to the passive models, with a 2.5 cm EFS fabric dome tweeter and a 13 cm bass/midrange driver for the BR02 BT and 16.5 cm for the BR03 BT .

Here are some additional features for the BR02 BT model:

  • Frequency response range: 56Hz – 22kHz
  • Sensitivity: 89dB/m
  • Amplification: class D 2 x 50 W

Here are some additional features for the BR03 BT model:

  • Frequency response range: 47Hz – 22kHz
