Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Lady Gaga… The 15 most offbeat and unmissable photos of the 2024 Venice Film Festival!

The prestigious Italian film festival, the Venice Film Festival, has closed its doors and revealed its winners.

Under the direction of Isabelle Huppert, president of the jury of the Official Competition, the Golden Lion, the highest distinction of the Mostra, was awarded to The Room Next Door by Pedro Almodóvar.

The feature film starring Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton and John Turturro, which follows on from Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Creatures, does not yet have a release date in France.

On the acting side, Nicole Kidman won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her performance in Babygirl. The Volpi Cup for Best Actor went to Vincent Lindon for his performance in Playing with Fire. Paul Kircher won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Most Promising Actor for his role in Their Children After Them.

France, which presented 4 films in competition – Their children after them by Zoran and Ludovic Boukherma, Play with fire by Muriel and Delphine Coulin, Three Friends by Emmanuel Mouret and Youth (The Return) which completes Wang Bing’s trilogy devoted to contemporary Chinese youth – does not leave this ceremony empty-handed but rather with two prizes awarded to two top actors: one who is just starting out, Paul Kircherand the other confirmed, Vincent Lindon.
