Braun unsheathes a professional clipper with self-sharpening blades

When we talk about shaving, it’s hard not to mention the Braun brand. Its extensive catalog of razors and trimmers is further expanded with the Series 9 BT9440, a beard trimmer that uses a self-sharpening ProBlade blade system to cut the hair effortlessly. In addition, for more comfort, its hair density sensor stamped AutoSense adapts the power of the motor to the thickness of the beard. Like the Philips Multigroom MG7720/15, it is particularly versatile thanks to two sets of blades: the first is wide enough to treat large areas, the second is more compact to eliminate hair with precision, or in tight places. .

Thanks to the four combs provided, the user benefits from 40 lengths of cut, in increments of 0.5 mm: with a little practice, gradients should therefore not be a problem. It is with the help of a wheel placed on the body of the Series 9 BT9440 that the choice of the cutting height is made. And to avoid inadvertent changes that could totally spoil the desired effect, Braun has provided a locking system for the famous rotary knob.

The data sheet for the Braun Series 9 BT9440 trimmer indicates that it is equipped with a Li-ion battery which gives it a range of 180 minutes. However, we regret that no specific indicator informs the user of the remaining operating time. Note, however, that Li-ion batteries theoretically provide the same power even when they are almost exhausted. Good point, Braun specifies that the Series 9 is fully waterproof. It can therefore be enjoyed in the shower, but above all it simplifies cleaning since it suffices to pass it under water to remove the cut hairs.

Launching at €130, the Series 9 BT9440 trimmer sits for less than €100 without much difficulty. In addition to the clogs, the box contains a storage stand that can be used for refilling, a carrying case and a beard guide.
