A particularly bad crime occurred on Saturday morning in Brixen im Thale. An unknown pickpocket stole cash and the ATM card from an 89-year-old woman. The damage is enormous.
The nasty scam happened around 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a grocery store in Brixen. There, the unknown perpetrator managed to steal money amounting to a three-digit euro amount as well as the ATM card from the local woman’s jacket pocket. A large sum was immediately withdrawn. It didn’t take long before the perpetrator made a withdrawal from an ATM using the stolen card. A five-figure euro amount fell into her hands. It is still unclear how the crook got the PIN code for the ATM card. Investigations are ongoing.
