Brazil-Lula at the top of the very first results


BRASILIA, Oct 2 (Reuters) – Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, known as “Lula”, topped the first results released by the Brazilian electoral authority on Sunday, which relate to 0.1% of the voting machines.

These figures give 51% of the votes counted to the left-wing candidate against 37% to his right-wing opponent and outgoing president, Jair Bolsonaro. (Victor Borges with Eduardo Simoes and Steven Grattan Sao Paulo; French version Nicolas Delame)
