Brazil: Mudslides kill at least eight people

RIO DE JANEIRO, April 3 (Reuters) – Heavy rain caused mudslides that killed at least eight people in Brazil’s southern state of Rio de Janeiro, local authorities said on Saturday.

Rio de Janeiro has been hit by bad weather in recent weeks. Landslides and floods have killed some 240 people in nearly a month in the northern Petropolis region, authorities said last month. (Report Rodrigo Viga Gaier, written by Ana Mano; French version Camille Raynaud)
