The company “Mestermacher” has issued a recall for one of their breads. There is a health risk for allergy sufferers – but others can enjoy the bread without worrying.

In Germany, almost everyone has it in the house, whether toast or whole grain – Bread is definitely one of the staple foods in this country. Therefore, when there is a recall, there is great concern. This time, however, it only applies to a “special consumer group”, as the manufacturer “Mestermacher GmbH” writes in a statement on the website. Allergy sufferers are affected.

Because the bread that is being recalled contains 3 percent walnuts. However, these are not marked on the packaging. Since a nut allergy can lead to severe symptoms including anaphylactic shock, the bread should not be eaten by allergy sufferers.

Specifically, it is the following type of bread:

The corresponding lot number should be found on the front of the packaging, the manufacturer informs in the consumer information. He also points out that people who are not intolerant to walnuts can eat the bread without hesitation, since it is just a labeling error.

Customers who wish to return the affected bread can do so at the store where it was purchased. There they should get a full refund of the purchase price even without presenting the receipt. If you want to send the product back directly to the manufacturer, you will be sent a new pack.

Incidentally, “Mestermacher GmbH” points out that no other products are affected by the recall and incorrect labeling. So it would only be a single batch of carrot bread.
