For the interpreter of Kate Sharma, the insertion in the high society of London in Bridgerton was a challenge complicated to take up. Far from the cool atmosphere and stylish clothes of Sex Education, in which she plays Olivia, Simone Ashley had to familiarize herself with new activities, between balls and hunting, for which she learned ballroom dancing, shooting and horseback riding.

But she also had to put on new costumes, a little dangerous, in particular the corset, which earned her a nasty injury on the set, as she explains to UK Glamor : “I had a lot of pain with the corset. I even tore my shoulder at one point!”

Simone Ashley didn’t take full measure of the daily wearing of a corset before joining the filming of season 2 of The Bridgerton Chronicle, since she fell ill on the first day:

“On the first day, I was like, ‘Ok, first day as the main character, I have to eat a lot and have a lot of energy’. So, I ate a huge portion of salmon and that’s what That’s when I felt bad basically because I was wearing the corset. I realized that when you’re wearing a corset, you just don’t eat.”

Wearing a corset therefore had unfortunate consequences on her body during filming. Fortunately for Simone Ashley, she regained all her abilities after the end clap: “It changes your body. I got a smaller waist very momentarily. Then the minute you stop wearing the corset, your body goes back to normal.”
