“Bridgerton” fans can not only look forward to new seasons of the popular Netflix series. Queen Charlotte receives its own spin-off.

Encore for all fans of the hit series “Bridgerton”: Netflix has announced a spin-off via Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel, 51). It is said that Shonda Rhimes (51) will write it himself. The new series is said to focus on the story of the Queen, as the streaming service announced on Twitter. In addition, viewers will learn more about Lady Danbury, the mentor of Duke Simon Basset, and about Violet Bridgerton. She is the mother of eight Bridgerton siblings.

“Many viewers were unaware of the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton showed it,” and they are excited that this new series expands its history and the world of Bridgerton, quotes “Entertainment Weekly” from a statement from Netflix. “Shonda and her team are carefully building the Bridgerton universe so that they can continue to provide the same quality and style to fans that they love.”

Four seasons of “Bridgerton” confirmed

The filming of the second season of “Bridgerton” has already started. Presumably, the new episodes will primarily deal with the love story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton, the brother of Daphne Bridgerton, which was the focus of season one. On the other hand, fans have to do without series favorite Regé-Jean Page (31). He will not return in his role of Simon Basset. In April, Netflix had already announced that the popular series, which takes place in Regency-era London, will be extended by a third and fourth season.
