One tends to convince oneself that actors are in real life like they are in their movies. Most of the time this is wrong. But in the case of Simone Ashley, 27, there are parallels to her role as the strong-willed Kate Sharma in “Bridgerton”.

Simone Ashley’s parents were strictly against it when the British woman with Indian roots decided against studying and opting for acting. “There is no crystal ball, no security. It can be a nightmare for parents,” she says understandingly today. Nevertheless, she pursued her big goal, and it paid off. She already shone in the “Sex Education” series. And with her “Bridgerton” role, she became a crowd favorite.
She is now being celebrated as the new style star on social media – because she regularly dares and sets trends herself instead of just following others. “I have to find my own way. I’m a bit rebellious about that,” she says. And smiles. As in Bridgerton.
