Production of the new episodes is said to have already begun. The new “Bridgerton” season is said to already be in the works
Work on the new episodes is apparently already underway. Forbes reported before the start of season three in Maythat production of season four began in April 2024. When is season four coming?
Nothing concrete is known about this at the moment. Some US media speculated that the new episodes could be seen on Netflix next year. However, this does not seem realistic. Showrunner Jess Brownell said according to “The Hollywood Reporter” about season four: “We’re going at about a two-year pace, we’re trying to go faster, but somewhere in that range.” That would mean the new episodes wouldn’t be available until 2026.
Which Bridgerton is the focus of season four?
Fans are speculating about this in detail. Season three tells the love story of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 31) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 37). In the book series that serves as the basis, this is part number four. The third novel is about Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson, 35). Season four could therefore now revolve around him. But his sisters Eloise (Claudia Jessie, 34) or Francesca (Hannah Dodd, 29) could also be the focus of the new episodes.
Apparently there is already a big draft for the “Bridgerton” siblings: Producer Shonda Rhimes (54) told Variety before season three: “I have a very specific plan of where we’re going in each season – who’s in which. Because you really have to start building in the other siblings and what happens to them to bring them into the next season. We really talked about it, I think, up until season 6 or 7.” Rhimes still plans to adapt all eight “Bridgerton” books.
Which of the cast members will return for season four?
Season three stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton will continue to appear in the series. Coughlan confirmed this to “The Wrap”: “They told us we’re back for season four, which is lovely… It’s going to be exciting.” Adjoa Andoh (61) as Lady Danbury, Golda Rosheuvel (54, Queen Charlotte) and Ruth Gemmell (56, Lady Violet Bridgerton) will probably also be back.
