Brigitte Macron was in Nice on Friday for the end of the Yellow Pieces operation, celebrated with Didier Deschamps, sponsor of the collection, the mayor of the city Christian Estrosi and his wife Laura Tenoudji.

The 2022 Yellow Pieces operation is coming to an end. Brigitte Macron, president of the Fondation des Hôpitaux, and Didier Deschamps, sponsor of the collection, were in Nice on Friday with the mayor of the city, Christian Estrosi and his wife Laura Tenoudji. In music and in the company of children, they celebrated the end of the collection, an appointment installed for more than 30 years, on the hill of the castle, in the heights of the city.

“Nearly a ton (of parts) was collected in Nice”, welcomed the mayor who recently joined the party of Edouard Philippe Horizons. On Twitter, he hailed this “unfailing mobilization in favor of hospitalized children and adolescents”.

“If all the cities mobilized like Nice, we could say yes to all the projects”

Brigitte Macron, interviewed by “Nice-Matin” was delighted to be present in Nice, “a city very friendly to the Foundation (…) which invests a lot”. “If all the cities mobilized like Nice, we could say yes to all the projects”, she added alongside the mayor. In the morning, they went to the Lenval Foundation, which manages a children’s hospital and several social and medico-social establishments.

Brigitte Macron recalled her commitment to adolescents, an environment familiar to the teacher. “I had not measured the extent of all the problems. I still don’t measure them because they are so important, but I can get involved. I know that it is possible to move things a little bit, so I am working on it, ”she explained to the daily. During the launch of the 2022 campaign, on TF1, on January 12, she insisted on the fact that the operation had been extended to adolescents and child victims of violence, “an absolute emergency”: “We have already released emergency aid on teenagers in 2021 to help teenagers’ homes, mental health centers or child psychiatry services that are really ringing the alarm bells”.

Invited by the local newspaper to take stock of her five years at the Elysée, the First Lady replied: “During the five-year term, I was happy to carry these subjects (…) I feel active. I don’t know if I’m useful, but I’m doing everything to be.”
