(Reuters) – British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has received backing from Brexit negotiator David Frost and MP Suella Braverman in the race to succeed Boris Johnson as leader of the Conservative Party and government.

In an op-ed published by The Telegraph, David Frost said Liz Truss “has the right ideas and the energy to make them happen. She deserves to be our next prime minister to move our country forward and I will support her.”

Suella Braverman, who was one of eight official candidates before being eliminated in the first round of voting organized by the Conservatives, also gave her support to the head of British diplomacy, reported The Times.

At the head of the first round of the vote, the former Minister of Finance, Rishi Sunak, has the support of the former deputy of Boris Johnson, Dominic Raab, and the Minister of Transport, Grant Shapps.
