It’s official, the two British firms Aston Martin and Britishvolt announce a partnership for the development of cylindrical batteries.
The first model to be equipped with it should leave the Aston Martin factories in 2025.
A 100% British association to accelerate the transition of Aston Martin
Like many European automakers, Aston Martin wants to become a 100% electric brand by 2030. A short-term goal that requires a rapid transition. As a result, the luxury sports car manufacturer entered into an agreement on March 7, 2022 with the firm Britishvolt, which specializes in the manufacture of long-lasting batteries for electric vehicles. The objective here is therefore to design cylindrical battery models suitable for future Aston Martin vehicles, but also to be able to offer each range still in production in an electric version from 2026.
Suffice to say that Aston Martin and Britishvolt have their work cut out for the models that will follow the Valhalla, Aston Martin’s new hybrid supercar, of which 500 copies will be delivered from 2024.

For its part, Britishvolt is offering itself a new partnership of choice, after a first association with the manufacturer Lotus.
