Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake don’t seem to be speaking to each other for a long time. But they always talk about each other publicly.
But nothing about reconciliation: 22 years after their separation, Britney Spears (42) and Justin Timberlake (43) publicly against each other. After the former pop princess had uttered conciliatory words a few days ago, he attacked her at a concert. She then reacted again – also with a new attack.
He apologizes to “absolutely no one”
But first things first: First, Britney Spears spoke out on Sunday after Timberlake appeared on the “Saturday Night Live” show for the first time in ten years. “I would like to apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I have offended someone I truly care about, I am deeply sorry…” she wrote in a since-deleted post Instagram. She then praised her former boyfriend’s new music. “I also wanted to say that I’m in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish’. It’s so good.” She also has to “laugh so hard” every time she sees Timberlake with presenter Jimmy Fallon (49).
However, it seems that this posting did not make her ex-boyfriend more forgiving. On Wednesday the singer is supposed to according to People Declaring on stage at his New York City concert, “I want to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely no one,” before singing “Cry Me a River.” He created the 2002 song shortly after the former It couple separated and alludes to the topic of infidelity.
Britney Spears recalls basketball debacle
On Thursday, Britney Spears responded to the concert statement: “Someone told me that someone was talking about me on the street,” she wrote in a post on Instagram. “Are you going to take it to court or are you going to go home to your mother crying like you did last time?” She also emphasized: “I’m not sorry.” She also posted a picture of a torn basketball hoop, which probably alludes to a relationship anecdote she revealed on Instagram in December: “I never mentioned how I beat him in basketball and he cried… no disrespect.” Shortly before, at a performance in Las Vegas, Timberlake said the words “No disrespect” before singing “Cry Me a River.” This in turn had been interpreted as his reaction to her biography “The Woman In Me”.

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears met at a young age on the show “Mickey Mouse Club” and were one of the most sought-after couples in show business from 1999 to 2002. In her 2023 memoir “The Woman In Me,” the singer opened up about the relationship, claiming that he persuaded her to have an abortion and cheated on her at the time.
