Sam Asghari appears to have received no money from Britney Spears’ divorce. The couple is said to have signed a prenuptial agreement.
The marriage between Sam Asghari (29) and Britney Spears (41) has failed. The male model Asghari will apparently not derive any financial benefit from the divorce from the pop icon. The couple, who said yes in June 2022, is said to have signed a corresponding marriage contract.
Accordingly, Asghari should receive neither a severance payment nor spousal support in the event of a divorce. He is only allowed to keep the gifts that Spears gave her husband. This is reported by “TMZ”, citing inside sources.
Asghari is said to want to challenge the marriage contract
According to the source, the marriage contract will also contain a “substantial non-disclosure clause” that prohibits Asghari from speaking about his relationship with Spears. And that’s exactly what Asghari could benefit from, according to “TMZ”: According to the portal, his lawyer, Neal Hersh, has indicated in court documents that he wants to challenge the terms of the marriage contract.
According to “TMZ”, this clause would no longer be valid if the marriage contract were successfully challenged. The fact that Asghari could then freely chat about the relationship with Spears is therefore a great threat to the pop singer. The possibility that her ex-husband could speak publicly about their problems or arguments could be reason enough for Spears to pay him a settlement after all. At least that’s what the sources of the US gossip portal suspect.
Divorce after about a year of marriage
According to media reports, Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Spears last Wednesday (August 16). The reason given in the available court documents is “irreconcilable differences”. “TMZ” reported yesterday, citing insider sources, that Spears is said to have repeatedly physically attacked her estranged husband during the years of their relationship.
Speaking on his Instagram Story on Thursday, Asghari wrote, “After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.”
Spears and Asghari began dating in 2016 after meeting on the set of the “Slumber Party” music video. He proposed in September 2021, and their fairytale wedding took place on June 9, 2022 on the grounds of Spears’ mansion in Thousand Oaks, California.
