“Mind Your Business,” the new single by Britney Spears and will.i.am is out – and it’s set to hit the dance floor again.
The rumors have come true: will.i.am (48) and Britney Spears (41) heralded the musical comeback of the pop princess with “Mind Your Business”. The track can be heard on Spotify or YouTube, among others.
Like their 2013 song “Scream and Shout”, their current collaboration with clear party beats and the direct message “Mind your own business” is clearly aimed at the dance floors of the clubs.
It’s about a lack of privacy
The text is about the celebrity status of the protagonists and the lack of privacy. Among other things, it says: “Everybody lookin’ at me like I was the breakin’ news / Police gotta stayin’ watchin’ every step I take /
Every move I make, every breath I take”, in German: “Everyone looks at me like I’m breaking news / The police are watching every step I take / Every move I make, every breath I take”.
Britney and will.i.am have worked together many times. In addition to Scream & Shout, they recorded the collaborative track Big Fat Bass for Britney’s album Femme Fatale (2011). In addition, the musician produced her complete “Britney Jean” album (2013).
Aside from “Hold Me Closer” – the remix of Elton John’s (76) “Tiny Dancer” – “Mind Your Business” is Spears’ first song since her father ended her guardianship in 2020. Britney’s last album, “Glory”, was released in 2016.
