20 years after the legendary stage kiss, Madonna is said to be making plans to perform again with her colleague Britney Spears.
New job for Britney Spears (41) after their separation? As “Page Six” reports, Madonna (65) would like to take her colleague on her “Celebration” tour. The two have been friends for a long time. 20 years ago, their kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards caused a worldwide sensation. Last year, Madonna was also among the guests at Spears’ wedding to Sam Asghari (29).
As a duo on stage in Los Angeles?
Madonna hopes to win Britney Spears for a stage appearance, the celebrity page claims to have learned from the “New York Post”. “Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year,” a source said. “Everything has been postponed due to her illness, but she still wants Britney to be with her at the Kia Forum.” Madonna will be giving five concerts at the Inglewood Hall next March, one of which will include her younger colleague.
With the performance in a double pack, the Queen of Pop wanted to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their joint hit “Me Against The Music”, which was released in October 2003. Shortly before that, the legendary kiss took place on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2003. The last time the superstars shared the stage was in 2008 on Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” tour. Spears hasn’t performed publicly since October 2018, so her appearance would be a minor sensation.
Tour kick-off in London
Madonna is currently rehearsing diligently for her tour, which is scheduled to start in London on October 14. She had to be postponed because of her health problems. After the singer had to be treated in intensive care at the end of June for a severe bacterial infection, she is now doing much better. “Madonna’s full touring crew will travel to London in the last week of September to begin rehearsals in Brixton. They will also have access to the O2 Arena a day early on October 13 to set up and conduct a full dress rehearsal,” the statement said according to an insider.
The program should be slightly changed in view of Madonna’s health: “Some of the dance routines have been toned down for her so that they are not as strenuous. She will continue to put on a great show, but the main concern of her team is to ensure that she is healthy and can survive the tour from start to finish.” And maybe she’ll get the support of her friend Britney Spears in Los Angeles.
Agreement in the dispute over the dogs
It was announced last week that Sam Asghari has filed for divorce from Britney Spears after just 14 months of marriage because of “irreconcilable differences”. The couple had been together since 2016. According to American media reports, there could be a court dispute over the finances, as the actor is said to be demanding more money than he is entitled to according to the marriage contract. Britney Spears is said to have turned on celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser (55). The couple reached an initial agreement but now already according to “TMZ”: The singer gets four of the five dogs.
