25 years! That is how long the British football coach Billy H. (24) has to be behind bars in Dubai. The reason: The Brit who lives in Dubai had CBD oil in his car.
CBD oil is made from cannabis but has no intoxicating effects. In the 24-year-old’s car, the police found four tiny bottles, each with 5 milliliters of oil, which is used for e-cigarettes, reports the “Bild”.
CBD oil wasn’t his
Even so, law enforcement agencies showed no mercy. Billy H. is said to have been forced to sign a fake confession in Arabic. Initially, the Briton refused, but after massive threats he signed the document anyway. In it, H. also “confessed” that he was involved in drug trafficking, according to his lawyer.
According to this, the CBD oil in Billy’s car should not have belonged to him, but to his friend. He had flown in from England to visit H. He probably forgot the oil in the car. Because Billy H. said when he was arrested that he was a non-smoker – the oil was therefore completely useless to him.
Foreign Ministry also wants release
Billy H. worked in Dubai as a football coach. After finishing his semi-professional career in England, he trained children in handling the round leather six to seven days a week. “I’ve spent more than six years collecting my coaching certificates and I would never let something like drugs ruin everything,” said H.
The drug test that the police carried out on Billy H. came back negative. Nevertheless, he has now been sentenced to a mega-sentence. The family now wants to appeal. The British Foreign Office announced that it would also campaign for the release of Billy H. (zis)
