The popular US comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is discontinued. The upcoming eighth season will definitely be the last.

The popular US comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will come to an end after the upcoming eighth season. The first reported the industry magazine "Deadline" citing the responsible broadcaster NBC. Filming for the final episodes is currently being prepared. In Germany, the first six seasons are currently available via Netflix through the 99th police station in New York City with Andy Samberg (42) in the lead role.

The first five seasons were still running on competing broadcaster Fox, which however discontinued the series. NBC then stepped in and initially continued "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" from 2019. Actually, the eighth season should already be in the can long ago, but the Corona crisis repeatedly thwarted the shooting. The last episodes should be broadcast in the USA in autumn 2021 at the earliest.

In the meantime, series creator Dan Goor also gave it on Twitter ended his statement at the end of the series: "I am so grateful that NBC and Universal Television have allowed the characters and fans to end they deserve," he wrote. It was a difficult decision to end the series now, but from his point of view it is the best way to "honor the character, the story and the audience".
