They were the perfect couple on the red carpet last week, young and cool. At the presentation of the “Variety Power Of Young Hollywood” award to Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, 23, in Los Angeles, the Brit moved like a true professional with his wife Nicola, 27. What struck Nicola even more than her outfit: she has recently had brunette hair. And with her poses she is now conspicuously reminiscent of her mother-in-law Victoria. Of all things! Because there is an ice age between the two most important women in Brooklyn Beckham’s life.

Everything has changed since his glamorous wedding in April. In an interview with “Variety”, Nicola tries to portray the Beckham family peace as completely intact: “Everyone pounces on the fact that I haven’t worn a wedding dress by Victoria. But her studio couldn’t have finished it in time. That’s the only reason why I I chose Valentino.” However, that is a flimsy explanation. After all, there were two years between the engagement and the wedding.

And when Brooklyn then demonstratively and reassuringly pushes: “Everyone gets along, which is good,” you really have to pay attention.

Cooking is his new calling

It became clear on the day of the biggest society wedding of the year who will be at the top of his life in the future. The bride’s family, the billionaire Peltz clan, had planned everything and demoted the power couple Victoria, 48, and David Beckham, 47, to extras. The message: you may be more famous, but we play in a higher league and by our rules. Brooklyn, who has been trying to find his own way for some time, is clearly impressed.

He gets along great with Nicola’s father, Nelson Peltz, 80, a US hedge fund manager, and their six brothers. Right from the start, Nelson Peltz assured Brooklyn that he would support him in everything – including financially. Unlike his parents, who always gave Brooklyn a start by making contacts. But he had to fight himself. So far he has had little success. He did not complete a scholarship for the youth team at Arsenal FC. He found photography, initially a great passion, boring: He dropped out of his studies at the Parsons School of Design in New York. And star photographer Rankin, with whom he was allowed to do an internship, found him only mediocre. Modeling no longer appeals to Brooklyn.

His new passion: cooking. He wants to be successful in the US with a TV cooking show and also open a restaurant in LA. He is said to have already worked out the business plan with Nicolas Dad – without his parents. “I’m so proud to have found something Beckham hasn’t done before,” says Brooklyn. “And I taught myself everything.”

Distance from the famous name

That’s another reason why Brooklyn is said to have consciously decided on the official double name “Peltz Beckham”. Did a wedding dress designed by Victoria just not fit into the concept for Nicola? Victoria’s fashion label, which is currently in the red at around 64 million euros, could have used this PR.

But Brooklyn and Nicola want to expand themselves as a “brand”. They now live in Beverly Hills and Miami. One of Brooklyn’s most recent tattoos reads “Our little bubble.” In other words, we only need each other! Brooklyn even got a “Married” on her hand and a huge “Peltz” on her chest.

The next big step: “Nicola and I want to have many children soon,” says Brooklyn. Mama Victoria must have heard about it from the press. Her heart is said to bleed because Brooklyn, as the firstborn, was always closest to her. The tattoo “Mum” adorns his upper arm. For her and David, their four children came first. Despite some crises, such as Beck’s affair with an assistant in 2004, they have always managed to keep the family together as a couple.

But instead of blaming Brooklyn, they continue to demonstrate their happy family life – currently without him. Brooklyn is now cooking for his new clan. And is also working on a reality TV show with Nicola, who wants to be an actress. The lives of the two always offer enough material.
