Unexpected “by-catch” during the search. The escape was successful for the time being. During the search, the police made an unexpected “bycatch”. In Ottensheim, 41 kilometers away, the officers noticed a panel van with a Hungarian license plate. There was no loot hidden inside, but 31 migrants, including ten children, were found crammed together. The smuggler, an Afghan, has now been sentenced to prison. Almost the entire loot was ruined in a week. Meanwhile, the bank robber felt safe. Although he later cited lack of money as his motive, he began spending his new wealth with both hands – preferably on easy girls. In hotels and brothels, he brought through almost all of the loot within about a week. Special unit stormed robber’s apartment Because when the Cobra stormed his apartment in Schwertberg, there was almost nothing left of the almost 15,000 euros. In return, the robber had made it easy for the investigators to finally convict him: he had kept the clothing and weapons that he had worn and used during the attack. At the trial on February 6th at the Linz Regional Court, the robber is expected to maintain his full confession. The jury trial is scheduled for just three hours this Tuesday morning. The perpetrator is now threatened with prolonged abstinence; the minimum sentence is one year in prison.
