The sympathy at the illness-related career end of actor Bruce Willis is enormous. The family is overwhelmed.
Scout Willis (30) thanks for the great sympathy for her father’s aphasia diagnosis. The actress and daughter of Bruce Willis (67) and Demi Moore (59) writes on Instagram: “I’m just blown away by the love I’m experiencing right now. Thank you all for showing so much warmth and overwhelming love to my dad and all my family.” She accompanies the story with a photo of her father. Another depicts a father and daughter snuggled together on an armchair. The third shot from the family album includes the hashtag #VivaBruce.
The family recently announced that the ‘Die Hard’ star would be retiring at the age of 67, effective immediately. In the joint statement, which Scout Willis also posted on Instagram, among othersit said: “With the amazing supporters of Bruce, we want to share as a family that our beloved Bruce is struggling with health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia which is affecting his cognitive abilities.”

Aphasia is damage to the language center in the brain. Those affected may have problems speaking and understanding language, including reading and writing. “As a result, and after careful consideration, Bruce is stepping down from a career that has meant so much to him,” the statement continued. It was not clear how the damage had occurred.
The statement from “Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn” ended with the words: “This is a very challenging time for our family and we are so grateful for your continued love, passion and support. We are moving we’re going through as a strong family unit and we want to bring his fans on board because we know how much he means to you and how much you mean to him.”
