Bruno Le Maire accuses Nupes of delirium and conspiracy

The Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire accused Tuesday on BFMTV the left alliance Nupes of “delirium”, of “conspiracy”, and of wanting to increase taxes by 100 billion euros.

After comments by Jean-Luc Mlenchon stating that the government was planning to increase VAT, the Minister said he wanted to deny this invention, this delirium of our adversaries, with the utmost firmness.

For Bruno Le Maire, this kind of comment a few days before the second round of the legislative elections is quite simply akin to what is a trait of this political family: conspiracy, making people believe that there are things hidden that power, that the powerful would hide from the French people.

He defended his record by saying that he has been the finance minister for the past five years who has lowered taxes the most in two decades in France, adding that we will not raise taxes, we will continue to lower taxes.

Conversely, Mr. Mlenchon is proposing a 100 billion tax increase, the minister said.
