Guest of the Grand Rendez-vous Europe 1/Cnews/Les Echos, the Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno le Maire, returned to inflation in France. While the latter has been breaking records in recent months, Bruno le Maire anticipates a return of inflation to a reasonable level, but higher than what the country knew before the pandemic.

The months follow each other and resemble each other. In April, inflation reached nearly 5.2% over one year, according to INSEE. A significant figure that weighs on households and threatens the French economy. “Our first responsibility is to protect the French”, assures the Minister of the Economy, stressing nevertheless that “France is the country which best manages the subject of inflation”, in Europe.
