During an interview with the Belgian magazine Soir Mag, Bruno Salomone took the opportunity to address certain criticisms to the French actors.
The unforgettable Denis Bouley from the series Do not do this, do not do that does not have only tender things to say about his peers. Interviewed by the Belgian magazine Soir Mag, Bruno Salomone made some criticisms of the French actors, whom they did not fail to compare with their neighbors. It all started with his experience with the most French of Belgian actresses: Virginie Efira, with whom he shared the poster for the film Madeleine Collins. “She is very professional, very cool too. And without exaggeration, it is one of the top five actresses in France today, it is undeniable. Thanks to this alliance of drama and comedy, and then this touch of madness too”confided the comedian, before adding: “It’s rare, with so much beauty, to reach madness so easily. An actor or an actress, if he falls into the trap of beauty at all costs, can get stuck and become rigid. Virginie Efira, she is not afraid to go there, to get damaged. It’s the strength of the great”. Praise that prompted Bruno Salomone to compare the talent of Belgian actors with that of the French. “It’s true that you have just incredible actors. We see the difference here, yes! The level of the actors, at home, it reaches ceilings”, he dropped before citing Dikkenek as an example. “Belgian actors do better than the French. We feel them less ‘playing‘. I don’t know if it’s due to the accent, but there’s a musicality about you that we don’t have.“, he explained about his colleagues.
Bruno Salomone: “We try to have a pseudo neutral accent”
Disappointed by diction in French cinema, Bruno Salomone ended up concluding: “We try to have a pseudo-neutral accent, whereas, all the same, there is nothing more beautiful than an accent! Even that of a Parisian titi, no need to think very far, but it’s no longer fashionable, and all French actors have been whispering for decades. It’s stupid all this naturalism. We have exuberant, fascinating people, and we hold back fearing that it won’t be credible.”
