BTC20 is based on the most valuable cryptocurrency in the world

Bitcoin is the most valuable cryptocurrency in the world, is enjoying increasing popularity among institutional investors and was able to achieve a return of around 70% in 2023 alone. The price is currently just under 30,000 US dollars per Bitcoin. Every crypto fan would have liked to have had the foresight as early as 2011 and accumulated Bitcoin early on. At a rate of 1 US dollar in 2011, the return would currently be around 3,000,000%, although Bitcoin is over 50% below the record high.

But the past is history, the music is playing in the future. Investors can build a brighter future by learning from the past. The new crypto project BTC20 wants to position itself as “Ethereum’s Bitcoin”.

While the “original” Bitcoin naturally remains the basic investment for crypto investors, BTC20 could be an exciting crypto presale that relies on associations with Bitcoin. In less than two weeks, the presale was able to reach the targeted hard cap of $6.05 million. Now the listing on crypto exchanges is pending.

But why could BTC20 be an opportunity for crypto fans and investors?

BTC20 is scarcer than Bitcoin in 2023

Bitcoin is capped at 21 million. This scarcity creates an intrinsic value that protects against inflation. Unlike fiat money, which is free to print at will, as “sound money,” bitcoin offers potential stability and potential returns for investors betting on this scarcity.

The circulating supply of Bitcoin is currently around 19.438 million BTC. The remaining 1.56 million bitcoins will be continuously circulated over the next few decades.

Now, however, BTC20 is turning back time and would like to map the blockchain to Bitcoin from 2011. This results in an even greater scarcity, since only around 6 million bitcoins were in circulation at the time. Ergo, 6.05 million BTC20 tokens will initially be put into circulation here.

Staking instead of mining: Passive income with BTC20

Bitcoin mining is hardly profitable for private users these days due to the increased level of difficulty and increasing competition. The required computing power and the associated electricity costs are high. In addition, large mining farms with cheaper energy prices have a competitive advantage that makes it difficult for private users to mine profitably.

Staking requires less technical knowledge and is also less expensive. Furthermore, this offers the chance of regular income. There is no need for expensive hardware.

Since BTC20 was designed as an ERC-20 token, investors get the chance to earn passive income. BTC-20 holders can receive rewards via staking, which are based on real Bitcoin block production since 2011.

The team is also promoting the stake-to-earn model at BTC20:

BTC20 is a green ERC-20 version of Bitcoin based on the Ethereum blockchain. A verified staking contract will release BTC20 tokens in line with the original Bitcoin block reward schedule. Stake BTC20 and earn a percentage of those rewards through a new Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism.

BTC20 valued at $6.05 million in ICO

BTC20 crypto presale soft cap is $3 million, hard cap is $6.05 million. When it subsequently launches on crypto exchanges, BTC20 will be valued at $6.05 million. For comparison: The real Bitcoin, as the most valuable cryptocurrency in the world, has a market capitalization of 566 billion US dollars.

Of course, BTC20 will not overtake “real” Bitcoin in market capitalization. But the project wants to position itself alternatively as “Ethereum’s Bitcoin”. Anyone who finds this approach exciting could take a look at the ongoing presale, in which BTC20 costs $1.
