Shock call Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m. for a magistrate employee in the department of social affairs, social and health law in the 23rd district of Vienna. Because on the phone, an apparently Arabic-born man threatened that he had planted a bomb in the offices of MA40 – large-scale operation! The branch office of the social welfare office in Liesing was cleared for security reasons, and the building was searched for a possible booby trap. Finally, the all-clear could be given: No bomb was found. The phone number led to the suspect. However, the investigations were quickly successful! Because practically at the same time, the previously unknown assassination threat could be tracked down based on the phone number. The suspect is – like a mother’s death racer at an illegal street race in the city center – a Syrian. The 30-year-old man reported here was arrested, the judiciary must now report a possible pre-trial detention or a complaint decide freely. His motive: anger at the social welfare office.
