France 2 broadcast on Saturday the first episode of season 1 of “Drag Race France”, a French adaptation of the American blockbuster “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. The program was then to continue on the FranceTV Slash online platform. But the good audiences of the program have modified the strategy of France Télévisions.

It was supposed to be a one night stand. It will finally last the whole season. Saturday June 25, France 2 broadcast in the second part of the evening (on the box of We are live) the first episode of season 1 of Drag Race FranceFrench adaptation of the American blockbuster RuPaul’s Drag Race. The rest of the drag queens competition was then to be broadcast, at the rate of one episode per week, on FranceTV Slash, the France Télévisions streaming platform.

Temporary exclusivity on FranceTV Slash

But, faced with the success of the program on France 2, France Télévisions changed its strategy. Episode 1 indeed brought together more than 900,000 viewers, on a summer Saturday evening in the second part of the evening. A great performance which finally pushes France 2 to broadcast the entire Drag Race France. The channel will offer a new episode every Saturday evening around midnight.

For its part, the free FranceTV Slash platform is not a loser: it will keep a form of exclusivity on the show for two days. Indeed, it will put new episodes online every Thursday evening, ahead of the TV broadcast.
