Buitoni scandal: a third range of pizzas now in question

The scandal continues. After “Bella Napoli” and “Fraîch’up”, the “Four à Pierre” range would also be the source of contamination with the bacterium Escherichia Coli (E.Coli).

Manufactured in the Buitoni factory in Caudry (Nord), the pizzas of this third range, like the “Bella Napoli”, are still marketed. If the link between pizzas and infections with E.coli bacteria has only been established for the “Fraîch’up” range, a family of consumers has nevertheless questioned the “Four à Pierre” range.

And for good reason, a 7-year-old girl was hospitalized last March after eating one of these pizzas. Contaminated with E.coli bacteria, the child suffered serious intestinal complications according to information from France Info.

In addition, after having evoked a situation “worrying for the continuation of the things”, the lawyer of the family affirmed that a complaint would be lodged for “endangering the life of others”, “deception” and “injury involuntary”.

For the time being, nearly fifty cases of contamination with E.Coli bacteria have been observed and are likely to be linked to the consumption of Buitoni pizza. This new case comes just twenty-four hours from a complaint against the “Bella Napoli” model.
