Bullet Train: Brad Pitt has his next job in his pocket

The next film project by Oscar winner Brad Pitt is certain: In "Bullet Train" by David Leitch he becomes a killer.

What comes after his Oscar-winning appearance in "Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood" (2019)? The next film project by actor Brad Pitt (56) is now known. He takes the lead in the action thriller "Bullet Train", as reported by "The Hollywood Reporter". David Leitch (50), who directed "Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw" (2019), is responsible for the film.

A killer with a cute name

"Bullet Train" is based on the popular Japanese book "Maria Beetle" by author Kotaro Isaka (49). The film focuses on a group of killers and assassins on a train in Tokyo who have conflicting motives. The project is described as a mixture between "Speed" (1994), whose action takes place on a bus, and "Non-Stop" (2014), whose plot is located on an airplane. Brad Pitt is said to embody the American killer Ladybug.

Zak Olkewicz contributed the script to the project that Antoine Fuqua (54, "Training Day") originally developed. He is still on board as a producer. According to "The Hollywood Reporter", the responsible film studio Sony hopes to start shooting this fall. With the closed setting in a train that could be shot in a studio, the conditions of the corona pandemic could be implemented more easily than an action film in an outdoor setting, it is said.

It is not the first collaboration for Brad Pitt and David Leitch. Leitch used to be Pitt's stunt double. The Oscar winner also had a cameo appearance in Leitch's "Deadpool 2" (2018).
