Bundesliga in the ticker – now LIVE: Goal! Lightning lead in the basement duel

The 6th matchday in the Austrian Bundesliga is coming up. The WSG Tirol meets Blau-Weiss Linz. We report live – see ticker below. It’s currently 0:1.

Here’s the live ticker: WSG Tirol and newly promoted Blau-Weiss Linz certainly imagined the start of the anniversary season of the Bundesliga differently. On Saturday, the two still winless clubs at the bottom of the table will be fighting for their first success in the sixth round. “There’s a lot at stake for both teams. It’s a so-called six-point game,” explained WSG player Luca Kronberger before the game at Innsbruck’s Tivoli currently on the penultimate place in the table. However, two 1-1 draws against LASK and Rapid in the most recent games indicate a cautious upward trend among the Tyroleans. “Step by step, things are going in the right direction,” emphasized Silberberger. Kronberger, who scored a dream goal in Hütteldorf, hopes the point will give the team wings. “So that we can now leave the field as winners in the home game against Blau-Weiss Linz.” Recently, Blau-Weiss was a welcome opponent for the Watteners. The WSG has not lost any of the last ten duels, all of which were played in the second division. One floor higher, the Linzers are currently at the bottom, but Silberberber rates the climber as much stronger than the table suggests. “You could see in the games that they can give the opponent a lot of headaches. They have a very good idea for the game.” The coach still has to do without Valentino Müller (Achilles tendon irritation) and Bror Blume (bone edema). Denis Tomic and Thomas Geris are also questionable. Blau-Weiss Linz, however, only has one point on the credit side. In the past three games against LASK, Rapid and Sturm Graz, there was a clear difference in quality. In order to finally arrive in the league, points must urgently be collected at the WSG and a week later against Altach. “In the last few games against very strong opponents we were able to learn a lot. We know that WSG has a lot of experience in the league, but we also know that we definitely have a chance of winning there,” said coach Gerald Scheiblehner. There is also optimism within the team. “We’re expecting a game at eye level and that we’ll get our chances, which we have to take advantage of. We finally want to get things done in Tirol and celebrate our first win in the Bundesliga,” said Julian Goelles. This requires an increase, especially on the defensive. In the first five rounds, Linz’s defense proved to be anything but solid. Blue and white have already conceded 16 goals, by far the most in the league.
