Almost four years ago, in September 2019, Bungie through his CEO Pete Parsons mentioned wanting to release new licenses by 2025. A year later, in 2020, several job offers gave us clues about the intentions of the studio, including a project with whimsical characters for example. Currently, we know that the development of Destiny 2 will continue beyond the extension The Final Form which will be presented this Tuesday and that theextraction shooter pvp Marathon will a priori be the next major launch of the firm. Well, in the past few days, new official details have been released about a third game, including a most amazing title.
A series of three tweets mentioned the internal program Bungie project incubation (which will therefore not necessarily see the light of day), with the aim of recruiting for them by offering fully remote jobs without the need to go to the Bellevue premises. The studio is therefore looking for profiles from all walks of life to build inclusive worlds, including a “team-based action game inspired by many genres, set in an entirely new science-fantasy universe”, which is one of his favorites. But what is hidden behind this statement? It is not his inspirations that will give us a definitive answer as they are numerous:
It draws inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims and frog-type games, wrapped in a light, comedic world.
But what is a “frog-like game”? Should we expect a production where the characters jump in all directions? What is certain is that this simple mention has aroused many reactions on the Web, which was undoubtedly the desired objective. Bungie adds that this project will include all the depth, control and action characteristic of his other projects, and wants to offer an inclusive and friendly community. Is this the game for which Joe Ziegler was recruited? The latter being director on an unspecified game and not working on Marathonhighly possible.
Recruitment for this game is particularly active, but other smaller projects also require positions. If you are interested, do not hesitate to consult the dedicated website. The latter features several illustrations, which are indeed far from the fairly serious worlds of known Bungie games (Halo, destiny And Marathon).
Moreover, according to The Game PostTHE MOBA-like described above would have the code name Gummy Bears and would offer a competitive gaming experience in pvp in teams with very cute and colorful characters, almost fluorescent / neon. And although the “Matter” logo is thrown without any other mention by this site, we have already read elsewhere that this project would potentially be abandoned. In any case, it would be strange not to use this title known to the community if the two projects were linked.
The future of Bungie therefore slowly begins to clear up, but while waiting to know more, alone Destiny 2 is currently available, all extensions of which are on sale at the house of Gamesplanet.
